About
WKGP is a ‘Remote’ practice, that is, we do not have a base where we have a traditional appointments and waiting room. All our care is delivered on site at the aged care facilities, and out of hours by phone or videolink, with occasional visits.
At present visiting days are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, with phone and video cover outside this time.
Each facility logs residents to be seen in the doctor book, to be attended on a weekly visit. Unfortunately we cannot give exact appointment times as people are seen partly in order of need, and length of appointment is directly related to need on the day.
All medical care is bulk billed. Non-medical care (legal letters etc) may attract a separate private fee.
In the first instance, relatives and next of kin should communicate with the nursing staff at the facility. They will pass on requests for meetings etc to the doctor. Email enquiries can be sent to admin@westkentishgp.com.
You can obtain our policy for managing patient health information from admin@westkentishgp.com
Provide feedback or make a complaint to the practice on admin@westkentishgp.com or via our contact page.
Our practice – what you need to know
Aged care is complex and family members and others are often closely involved in care. We endeavour to communicate well, but sometimes we have to confirm that a relative or friend is of legal standing before they can receive confidential medical information. It is important to keep us updated as to who the next of kin is for a resident.
Outside of visits and family meetings, our standard communication is by email. While we try to keep email information confidential, unfortunately no communication of this type is guaranteed 100% secure. If we get notification of any security breach we will notify you immediately.
Residents and NOK can request copies of laboratory reports, assessments etc.
